Cel-Kids Network provides children and youth opportunities to meet and share experiences with others of their age-group who are also living with celiac disease and gluten-related disorders.
Being a part of Cel-Kids Network allows youth to meet others who know how they feel. Along with get-togethers, they learn important things about staying healthy and living confidently everyday. It’s nice to know that they are not alone in the world with this weird-sounding disease and can’t eat the same foods as their friends.
Teenagers have the opportunity to mentor younger Celiacs in an inspiring, fun, and positive manner. Through volunteering and sharing their experience, they will build community and confidence, be viewed as leaders, and continue receiving support for their well-being.
Researchers are recommending mass celiac screening for children after their recent study. Blood screens of the first 9,973 children showed about 2.4% with positive TGA by either test. Read more on Celiac.comView more
